Chennai- St Denis (Reunion Island, Africa) direct flight 27k return

I just discovered direct flight between Chennai and St Denis, capital of Reunion Island, near South Africa.

A round trip ticket is available for around 27000 INR (327 Euros), which feels reasonable. Air Austral is a full service airline- the fare includes 25kg checkin bag and 7 kg cabin bag. I am assuming meals is also included, though not explicitly stated. Date change is possible for a fee of 70 euros and fare difference.

The low fares of 327 Euro shown above is available for several dates in October/November 2018, Jan/Feb 2019 etc.

Note that there’s only 1 direct flight per week- leaves from Chennai Saturday morning 7 AM, return flight is on Friday night. On other days, one stop via Bangkok may be possible.

Air Austral is a French airline headquartered in Reunion island. I was happy to see that of all the cities in India they are flying direct non-stop to Chennai. (To 3 other cities- Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, Air Austral offers connecting flight via Thai Airways

It would have been great idea to book a one way ticket to Reunion, then fly to Mauritius or Seychelles and then return to India, but one way tickets are doubly expensive and doesn’t make sense- watch out.
