Hubballi (Hubli) airport to get flights from all over South India

Karnataka, despite being a big state, has only 2 major airports- Bengaluru and Mangaluru. Many other airports exist- like Mysuru, Belagavi, Vidhyanagar, Hubli etc but with hardly any flights these weren’t of much use.
Good news is that a series of flights are expected to commence from Hubballi (Hubli) soon. Many airlines have agreed to fly to and from Hubli from nearby cities. Source-Prajavani Kannada daily

Below are the details of expected flights in and out of Hubballi.

UDAN Price: Airlines have agreed to a maximum cap of specific amount (shown as UDAN Price above) for a certain number of seats for each flight (usually 50%, except for large planes). Rest of the seats will be sold as per market dynamics.

This is only preliminary info. Exact date of commence is not yet known. I am expecting a timeline of 2-3 months for established airlines like Indigo and Spicejet, a bit more for others.

Tourists can take full advantage of these flights to Hubli- Flying into Hubli makes it easier to reach various nearby destinations- Hampi, Bagalkote, Pattadkal, Dandeli, Sirsi etc-all these places will be now a few hours drive from Hubli, compared to long road trip that was earlier needed to reach them.

Residents and businessmen in the region also will benefit from these flights.

Let us wait for these flights to begin soon...

  1. This is going to be very helpful... particularly to the students in the colleges around Hubli!.

  2. UDAN seats are half of the available seats! That is too good.

  3. This is good news. Just a thought though, how much sense does Hubli-Goa make?
And interesting to note that no flights from Mangalore are announced, at-least once or twice a week!

    1. Hubli-Goa is about 200 kms but will take about 5 hours by road. I am sure finding some 50-70 passengers per day who would prefer to fly instead won't be a problem.

yes, Mangaluru-Hubbali-Hyderababd or Mangaluru-Hubballi-Pune etc would have been a good option.

      Thanks for your commments

  9. After last year's introduction of new routes, there has been no traction on new routes this year. Sad, seriously need flights to Hyderabad, Pune & Mangalore...
